Week of Thanks…Day 5

Today…I am thankful for Mister LK having the day off after Thanksgiving!  He’s been to the grocery store this morning, and is now cooking in the kitchen!  We don’t do Black Friday, since we both hate lines & masses of people…so we’re going to host all of the post Black Friday friends we have!

We are wishing all our friends who have been up all night lots of luck & some rest today – we’ll provide the food!

It is a beautiful day outside & I’m going to go outside & play with Miss A.  Until she remembers that Daddy is home & wants him instead 🙂

Week of Thanks…Day 4…the BIG DAY

Today…is the big day for thanks.  The thing I am most thankful for this year, is the defense mechanism of my child.  Her absolute adorableness, her sillyness, her big smile, her funny thoughts…anything and everything she does to make me laugh.

So thankful for that smile

our little princess!

I’m thankful for my husband who can make me see the funny moments of the day even when my head is clouded with memories of a screaming tantrum toddler!  I’m thankful for the family that we have made, in the house that I love.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Week of Thanks…Day 3

Today…I am thankful for my best friend.  The one that I can’t sleep without cuddling with.  The one that loves me more than anyone else in this world.  My first baby.  My son.  My bad bad best boy.  Even though he pushes me to the edge some days with his bad boy ways, I am so thankful for him.  A loves him so much and we couldn’t imagine life without him!

Week of Thanks…Day 2

Today…I am thankful for my mom.  She’s got the patience of a saint.  She has told us that motherhood is a thankless job…and she’s right, but I’d like to prove to her, even if it’s not as often as it should be, that I thank her for everything.

Miss A can’t wait to see her Gamma on Thursday!  She thanks her too for being the best Gamma!  There’s nothing she doesn’t give to my A & it does not go un-appreciated.

At the dinner pictured below, Gamma barely ate, because A decided that she wanted everything on Gamma’s plate.  String beans, mushrooms, chicken, and of course, cake.

We love you Gamma!

Week of Thanks…Day 1

Today…I am thankful for Netflix.  It is so much better than Hulu Plus.  You pay for both (by “you” I mean Auntie E), but only on Netflix can I watch without any commercials!  Thanks E!

I am also really thankful that we got to spend the weekend with 2 more sweet girls!

3 Girls that will make you thankful everyday!

Happy Birthday to the BEST DADDY EVER!!!!

Dear Daddy,

Words cannot begin to describe how much I love you…and you know how many words I have and that I’m not afraid to use them!  You are so much fun with just the right balance of discipline, making me feel so secure and happy!  Thank you for everything you do for me & for Mommy.  I love my special bathtime/bedtime with you at night & how you come in to get me out of bed on the weekends!  I really love when you throw me up in the air, and when you dance with me, when you read me books, and I can’t wait for you to take me to all your football games & basketball games and any other game that Mommy wishes I didn’t like, but I love!

Here are some of my favorite memories from the past few months!

I know that I am away for your actual birthday, but I miss you so much and I love you the most! (besides Mommy – you guys are tied)

Thank you for being the best Daddy a baby girl could dream of!

Love,

Baby A

(Mommy would like to say something too!)

To the best Daddy, best husband & my best friend Mister LK…you are an amazing support in my life and I couldn’t imagine what my life would be like without you.  You do everything for our family & I can’t express how grateful I am for all of it.  I hope that what I try to do for you comes close to making you feel as loved, supported, secure & happy as you make me.  I am the luckiest girl in the world and wish you every happiness you dream of.  You deserve the best of everything.  Happy Birthday Love!!!!!!

Cousin Love…

Lately, Miss A has been obsessed with her Cousin S.  She walks around the house screaming her name, she calls every red-headed person/Disney character SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, and she brings me the phone and tells me Phone…S…

Auntie H … here’s the pressure to bring her out to visit us once in a while……

Look how much fun these 2 have together!

Cousins playing piano

Look at those faces!!!

A loves her cousin SO MUCH!

Embrace the Camera Thursday 10.13.11 & A few Happy birthdays!

Here’s another shot from our fun afternoon at the beach!

Mommy & her kiddos!

We are celebrating 3 birthdays today!  Cousin A, Auntie S2 & Puppy B.

Dear Cousin A,

I know we don’t see you too often because you like to be home a lot, but I really love you so so much and when we do see you we always have the best time!  You are a great cousin & always share your toys with me…unlike your sister!  I’m looking forward to growing up with you & making our mommies insane…driving them crazy like we did in the restaurant the other day!  I really can’t wait to go on our family trip to California with you!  Auntie H – you MUST TAKE COUSIN A!!!!!  I wish you the happiest birthday & hope that your 2nd year is as good to you as mine has been to me!

Love Always,

Baby A

A moment of sanity in a night of chaos!

Dear Auntie S2,

I am so happy that I got to see you recently when you brought Cousin CJ to NY.  I had a great time playing with you & I hope we see you again soon!  I know that CJ snuggling with you will make this your best birthday ever & I told her to be extra good for you today, so I hope she listened!  I love you very much & wish you a very happy birthday!

Love Always,

Baby A

A baby is the best birthday gift!

Dear Puppy B,

You’re a cute dog & we love you!  You’re insane and I’m not sure how you’ve lasted so long in Auntie H’s house, but my cousins love you & so do I!  I hope you have a very happy birthday and the girls give you lots of treats!

Love,

Baby A

Sunday Funday…with a chainsaw, 5 kids, 2 dogs, 6 adults, some football, a BBQ & a skillet cookie!

Sounds like fun huh?!

Well, remember hurricane pear tree debacle that was thisthis?  Well we can add the following to the end of that story…

Mister LK pulling up the stump

Ahhhh no more tree!

The boys actually got that thing out with the combination of a chain saw, a jigsaw & a jeep!  They felt very cool to be able to use the jeep to pull the stump up and out!  I can’t wait to get the Mister on the project of a new trex deck out there (with a wading pool)!!!!

Then we took a little rest & went over to J&D’s house to play, have a BBQ & watch football.  The kids had a blast!

Remember when I said yesterday that Miss A loves her a good hoola hoop?!  Well she was practicing overtime at her cousin’s house!

Then she moved on to the jump-rope!

Little M had other ideas for fun activities that afternoon!Like riding his Daddy's shoulders! And sweeping!

He also thought it was a good time to check out some 3D stuff in his cool glasses!

The babies weren’t the only ones having fun that day!  The bigger kids found fun things to do too!  The girls enjoyed their afternoon making “chalk dust”…which I’d never seen done before.

I thought they might want to paint with it…and they did…but their canvas of choice was strange…

Yup!  The dog!  *Don’t worry – no animals were harmed in the making of this fun day!*  We didn’t let them paint the dog with chalk…and we didn’t let the dog paint herself either!

Mr. IP thought it would be fun to be an attack child…

Or maybe he was pretending he was on a row-boat….who knows!  He obviously thought it was funny.

Pre-Dinner snack of goldfish!!

This day also marked my little girl’s very first 20 minute temper tantrum.  For the day she looks back on these posts to see her “firsts” I’d like to point out that this tantrum was over a Capri Sun.  I don’t really give A juice ever.  She drinks water like it’s going out of style & she eats like a champ so I just don’t see the need for juice…but the big kids were having Capri Sun & A wanted one…BAD…we had to leave the table & sit inside for 20 minutes until she calmed down…then we had to hide the juice packs when she came back out!  Fun times A…thanks.

We came inside after dinner & got into PJs & had some dessert!  It is all about moderation…and since I saved her from having pure sugar for dinner, I gave her some cupcake!

Not that most of it got in her belly – more like her eye!

For the adults, AG & I made an ooey gooey chocolate chip skillet cookie!  Super easy to make and really delish!

By the end of the night the little ones were exhausted & A thought she’d help her mommy out after getting sort of cleaned up … probably giving me a hint that she’d appreciate me stopping to take pictures about now!

Thanks to the P family for such a fun day!  We’re looking forward to picking apples/pumpkins with you guys this weekend!!!

Made with Love…

I know that I’ve mentioned how awesome my Grandma was…but I have one more thing to show off!

One of her many talents was knitting.  She was a great knitter and always was making us sweaters!  The other day when we were visiting with my mom we pulled out the old bin with “Grandma” sweaters!  My mom packed them really well & everything was in perfect condition!  Check out A wearing the cardigan my Grandma made for me when I was a baby!

Keep your eyes out for more beautiful sweaters….I have heard the 80’s are BACK and these are the most authentic 80’s pieces there are!  Each one finished with a tag…”Made with Love by Grandma”
