2 Sweet, 1 Crafty Valentines!

I’ve never really listened to too much (any) Bob Marley, but thanks to Pinterest, I recently read a quote of his that really spoke to me…

See, Mister LK doesn’t believe in the Hallmark holiday of Vday…and it is not the most important holiday to me either…but that said, it is really nice to know the guy in your life is thinking of you!  I know I’m not perfect, and the Mister might not be either, but he is perfect to me.

Honey…don’t get the wrong idea…I still want the diamonds hehe 😉  But you are amazing and I can’t thank you enough for everything you do for me and our family.  I have an amazing life and I owe it all to you.  On Valentine’s Day & every other day of the year, I appreciate everything you are.  Thank you so much for the unexpected explosion of flowers at our front door yesterday!

the box was like 4 feet long!

After a surprise like that, A & I were inspired to make pretty things for some special people!  We were pretty limited in supplies, so these babies are limited editions, but we worked very hard on the ones we did make!

Happy Happy Valentine’s Day everyone…from the LK house to yours…we hope your day is filled with love, laughter, flowers, chocolates and anything else your hearts desire!

Signing off for a little while…we’re heading down to NC to visit the G Family & we can’t wait to see you all!!!

Embrace the Camera Thursday 2.9.12

Happy Thursday!

Oh Central Park Zoo….while a fabulous place to meet up and walk around…you sure did disappoint in the ZOO department!  We saw some seals, a sleeping polar bear, and the saddest penguins since the captive Happy Feet guys…

But we got to see Grampa on his birthday so we made the best of it and let the girls play in the open space by the seals pool!

Maybe next time we’ll make the meeting place the Children’s Museum for some more activities to entertain the kiddos!

Happy Birthday to GAMMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Gamma,

Happy Happy birthday to the best Gamma in the whole wide world.  I am the luckiest almost 2 year old to have such a great Gamma that always loves me, lets me boss her around, brings me all kinds of presents, takes me all over the place and a zillion more things  you do for me!  I love you Gamma!

Love, Miss A

We here at LKSquared wish our Mom/Gamma the happiest birthday today.  We hope that all of your wishes come true today and everyday.

These girls have the best Grandma & her girls have the best Mom!

We all can’t wait to spend the day celebrating you!  Hugs & Kisses Mom!

Love, the LKs!

Snow Day!

Singular….1 day….1 snow….that is all we’ve got this year!  So different from last year!!!  I can’t believe how big A’s gotten since last year.  I know she’s a year older, but when you look back at the photos, it is just incredible that she was crawling as her main mode of transportation, and she was so bundled up she could barely do that!!!

This snow was a nice one…even though I love when it snows…getting around with a toddler in snow like last year might be difficult.  A was also much more helpful this year with snow removal!

She helped her Daddy clean up the whole patio!

Cleaning off our fire pit table

She thought the snow was funny!

Really funny!

Her eskimo ensemble was too cute not to get lots of pretty pics!

Thanks PD for lending us your snowsuit!!!

See ya soon snow!!!

Next year, we’ll meet the snow…on skiis!

Every Mother Should Have Some Pink In Their World…

I’ve mentioned before that I come from a family of all girls.  I (so far) only have nieces.  And…well…there’s A.  When I was pregnant, I didn’t find out the sex until she was born.  I know a lot of people who hate that…but for me, I wanted that surprise.  I also didn’t want to shop since we’re superstitious and didn’t bring anything baby-related into the house until baby was home.

When Dr. W announced that A was a girl, I  nearly fainted.  Yes I did just have a C-section after almost 30 hours of labor and I was exhausted, but I was just so sure “she” was a “he” that I couldn’t catch my breath.

Obviously, all I hoped for was a healthy baby.  But deep down…I wanted a girl!  I’d be lying if I said otherwise.

Now…my beautiful friend DR just had her 3rd baby.  (WHOA).  And like the other 2, she didn’t find out the sex.  Her first 2 are really 2 of the most amazing, beautiful, smart, funny, sweet boys I’ve ever met.  But when I got the txt about #3, I can’t say I wasn’t just super super excited that ITS A GIRL!!!!!

Every mommy should have a little pink in their world…and I was completely floored and honored that DR asked me to put together something for their nursery!  Mood boards for nurseries are something that I love.  I wish I put together some more for my own use when A was cozy in my belly, but I was busy living a life of a childless person and didn’t have time for silly things like decor in my nursery.  Until she arrived and I smashed together some ideas and got her all set up!

So now, I just hope that more people I know get pregnant or decide to decorate their kids/baby’s room & let me get creative!

What makes it even better, is that DR loved it and I think it’s actually going to look a lot like this inspiration board!  For sweet AR. (another A baby….they have a special place in my heart!)

She's so pretty and delicate!

Perfection!

A little inspiration!

Out With the Old….In With the NEW BANO!!!!

A took her final bano in the old bathroom on January 10th.  It was a really long, really nice good-bye to the teal & flowers you might have seen here.

"Mommy...please don't take away my bano"

Oh....I'll be happy if it will be white!!!

The bathroom that A bathes in, is the only tub in the house, so we’ve been showering for the last 21 days.

Even that teal/blue/green/black and every color flowers weren’t any match for my little munchkin!

Here are my kiddos after the “Last Bano”

I hope you’re ready for a change.  We certainly were!  In respect of the old bathroom…it was really nice when it was new, I’m sure of it!  It was the leaking shower body, the disintegrating walls, and the lack of lighting that were the main reason it got first bid on being the 1st major interior renovation!

Ooooohhhhh so pretty! CLEAR WATER!!!!

Foofa took the first bath with A!

Here are the kiddos after their First Bano!

Big Difference right?!  Here’s a side by side for better comparison!

Today they are completely done and we have all the accessories in.  We’re really really excited!

We used Built Right, NY again for this work.  We used them for the siding replacement over the summer too.  They seem to have done pretty great work on the bathroom!  I’d still recommend them!
