Birthday Party In the Park…

Turning 2 is best celebrated with beautiful weather, gorgeous kids, lots of fun & obviously … cupcakes!  We were invited for a playdate in the park to celebrate one of our friend’s birthdays!  She’s an adorable little 2 year old with a brand new baby brother!  I decided that on such a great day I would do a little practice shoot & capture some memories for the little birthday girl & her friends!

Diva’s In the Park…

If you woke up today wondering “what would a diva do?” … 2 of my favorite girls are about to show you!

These girls never fail at making me smile…they are amazing little girls and they are growing up way too fast.

“Don’t Freak Out Mom”…

Dear A,

This weekend was the start of Passover 2012.  The highlight of this holiday so far is when you told me “Don’t freak out Mom” while I was about to freak out!  I’m not sure how you knew what “freak out” was…since I never ever ever freak out on you….HAHAHAHAHA….but it made me laugh so hard that I couldn’t help but wash my hands of the salmon, pick you up & kiss your freakin’ face!

You are almost 2.  That is insane.  I don’t think I’ll be able to handle your birthday.  You are such a big girl now & as much as 2 years old terrifies me, you seem a little bit happier these days!  Except for dance class.  You still cry every class.  I’m pretty certain you don’t like the structure and the teacher telling you what to do.  It might be torture, but you have friends there, and so do I, so I will keep taking you!  You’re also a really great dancer, and maybe if we can get you there and learning, you can show everyone how talented you are at it!  They already know how talented you are at the crying!

There are new little brothers in dance class now too!  That helps you pay attention to nothing dance related as you want to make sure no one else is crying and getting any extra attention!!!

You also told me that you want a brother…again making me laugh hysterically!

If you have snacks in class, you will sometimes behave…if you have snacks and a musical instrument…I can get some quiet for about 5 minutes.

There are lots of adorable little girls in your class, and we do have some fun each week!  You like when we can twirl together and you also still love the balance beam & hoola hoops.  I think we’re going to try gymnastics soon because you love to jump and flip and you are very coordinated.  Dance however, isn’t going away any time soon…how could it, look at this tushy in a tutu!!!!!!!

I love you Miss A.  Please stop getting so big!

And also – I will freak out if I want to.  But if you tell me not to again, I’ll give you a cookie!

Embrace the Camera Thursday 4.5.12

Mister LK and I love to travel.  Well…I love to be away, but hate leaving home and Mister LK loves it all.  As everyone with kids knows, these amazing kiddos…they do complicate travel plans!  We’ve been away pretty frequently the past few weekends and one of those weekends was an “A-free weekend”!!!!  We had a wedding for one of Mister LK’s college friends up in Cape Cod.

In my life full of poop, thrown food, play doh, dirt & a million other dirty things, I live in sweatpants.  All The Time.  It was really nice to get away and be able to put on some pretty clothes & shoes & dance the night away with our friends.  Mister LK has great college friends…and their wives & girlfriends are pretty great too!  We always have a good time!  We even got a picture of ourselves which we NEVER do!

We weren’t the only ones who appreciated this trip!  We were really living like old times….just LKSquared & T.  He got to travel in his bag hiding from the hotel authorities, from everyone at the diner, and stealing coldcuts at the afterparty!  He also got to enjoy a car ride without being told where to sit by a bossy almost 2 year old!

A spent the weekend with Gramma.  She told me she didn’t miss me when we got home.  Hmph…I didn’t miss you either A! (lie)

We are also wishing Uncle P a Happy Birthday today.  Maybe we’ll be seeing you in May!  Hope you have a super day & lots of fun with all the family visiting this week…they’re sure to keep you busy & smiling!!!

Happy Birthday to the Family Sheriff....

Good Friends, Great Day…Hangin’ on the Hudson…

We spent the day in Westchester with our great friends the R family.  D & JR make some of the most beautiful children I’ve ever seen.  Magnificent & so good.  They are so sweet with A & she always has a great time hanging with the boys!  We hung out by the river, played at their house & did a little decorating of little Miss AR’s room which will be revealed as soon as it is done!

Thank you so much for a great day.  That baby is too too sweet, yummy, squeezable….I can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

2012…March Came In Like A Lamb & Went Out Like A Lion !

It’s not even that cold here, but compared to last week it is relatively frigid!  Last week was H O T up here…we went to the park with Cousins S & A, and of course Auntie H & Gramma too.  The girls had a blast as always, and shockingly, no one came home with a sunburn!

Apparently…these ballet flats are not meant for running around a park.  She was missing 1 shoe the entire time.  Pick your battles…

Oh the vomit wheel!  Gramma’s favorite park ride!

These girls adore each other…

How sweet do they look?!?!

And as Mister LK knows…its not a trip to the park in the hot weather without a visit from the Mr. Softee Man!

Who needs a spoon?!?!

Yes…it is down to 50 degrees from 80…and it feels freezing…but we’ve been super lucky with the weather this winter & I’m hoping our summer is equally as mild.  I’m not into sweating…

A And Her Dinosaur Tree…

A has a really amazing imagination.  She walks around all day singing and dancing to the music in her head.  She’s constantly having conversations about something with her stuffed toys and she’s always laughing at something!

The other day we were enjoying the weather on our front lawn and she was playing catch with me…

She was so happy!

She was on the hunt…

She was a little nervous…

She found something!!!!

Everyone…meet A’s neighbor…her dinosaur!

She was completely convinced that this was a dinosaur.  She kept saying “Mommy Mommy…look dinosaur!!!” It was so freakin’ adorable.  She wouldn’t touch it until I did…and when she did she said “Nice dinosaur!”  They are now friends 🙂

Who’s The Boss?

Around here?  A is.  Hands down, no questions asked, unequivocably, A is the master of our universe.  At least that is what she believes with every ounce of her being!  She is usually executing some type of command on me at home, or out, or anywhere she wants really, but she up’d her game recently when we visited Mister LK at his office.  She took her bossiness to a whole new level!

Auntie Sh + J 4Eva

Auntie Sh got engaged last week & we got to see the main event!  We went to the Bryant Park Grill to wait with the family & watch…then have a nice lunch!  A entertained many restaurant patrons that day by running from table to table giving them a singing and dancing show!  I wish I had gotten that on video…but I didn’t and she’ll have to rely on my memory for this one! (So I’m documenting it here!)

Auntie Sh + J look very happy & we wish them the best of everything!
